Definition
Max is an informal short form of “maximum.” As a noun it means the highest limit, greatest amount, or extreme extent (e.g., ‘to the max’ = to the fullest). In maths/stats it can mean the largest value in a set or a function’s maximum. As a verb (often ‘max out’), it means to reach or use up the maximum limit/capacity. As an adjective it means “maximum.”
