From Latin marinus (“of the sea”), from mare (“sea”), via French marin; later used in English for sea-related things and for naval infantry soldiers.
लैटिन 'marinus' (समुद्र का/समुद्र संबंधी) से, जो 'mare' (समुद्र) से बना; फ़्रेंच 'marin' के माध्यम से अंग्रेज़ी में आया और बाद में समुद्र-संबंधी अर्थ के साथ-साथ नौसैनिक पैदल सैनिक (मरीन) के अर्थ में भी प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
Marine describes things connected with the sea (marine life, marine biology, marine pollution) and can also mean a marine—a soldier of a naval infantry force trained to operate from ships and conduct amphibious missions.
'Marine' शब्द का अर्थ समुद्र से संबंधित (जैसे समुद्री जीवन, समुद्री जीवविज्ञान, समुद्री प्रदूषण) भी होता है और 'a marine' के रूप में इसका अर्थ नौसैनिक पैदल सेना का सैनिक भी होता है, जिसे जहाज़ों से संचालित अभियानों और उभयचर (जल-थल) कार्यवाहियों के लिए प्रशिक्षित किया जाता है।
