Definition
Malingering is the deliberate fabrication or exaggeration of physical or psychological symptoms for external gain (e.g., avoiding work, military service, punishment, or obtaining money/benefits). It is not a medical diagnosis but a behavior often discussed in legal and clinical contexts.
