Formed from lung + -less (“without”), first used in scientific descriptions of animals lacking lungs (notably amphibians).
lung + -less (“के बिना”) से बना शब्द; वैज्ञानिक लेखन में उन जीवों के लिए प्रयोग हुआ जिनमें फेफड़े नहीं होते (विशेषकर उभयचरों के संदर्भ में)।

Describing an organism or creature that does not have lungs (often breathing through gills, skin, or other structures); also used figuratively to mean breathless or unable to speak loudly.
ऐसे जीव/प्राणी का वर्णन जिसमें फेफड़े नहीं होते (अक्सर गलफड़ों, त्वचा या अन्य संरचनाओं से श्वसन करता है); कभी-कभी रूपक रूप में ‘हांफता हुआ’ या ‘जोर से बोलने में असमर्थ’ के अर्थ में भी प्रयोग।
