From life + span (“a length of time”), recorded in English from the 18th century; span originally meant ‘a measure/extent’ and by extension ‘a period’.
life + span (अर्थ: “समय की अवधि”) से बना शब्द; अंग्रेज़ी में 18वीं शताब्दी से प्रचलित। span का मूल अर्थ “माप/विस्तार” था और आगे चलकर “अवधि” के अर्थ में भी प्रयोग होने लगा।
Definition
Lifespan is the period from birth (or beginning) to death (or end), used for living beings and also for products, machines, or institutions to mean how long they remain functional or exist.
Lifespan वह अवधि है जो जन्म (या शुरुआत) से मृत्यु (या अंत) तक होती है; यह जीवित प्राणियों के लिए और उत्पादों, मशीनों या संस्थाओं के लिए भी प्रयोग होता है, यानी वे कितने समय तक उपयोगी/कार्यशील या अस्तित्व में रहते हैं।
