From libelous + -ly; libelous derives from libel (from Latin libellus, 'little book; written document'), later associated with defamatory writing.
‘libelous’ + ‘-ly’ से बना; ‘libelous’ शब्द ‘libel’ से आया है (लैटिन ‘libellus’ = ‘छोटी किताब/लिखित दस्तावेज’), जिसका बाद में अर्थ लिखित मानहानि से जुड़ गया।

Used to describe actions, statements, or publications that are defamatory in writing and harm someone’s reputation.
