From Dutch (regional geomorphology usage), used for an inner-bend depositional bar in meandering rivers; related in sense to Dutch terms for bend/inner bank deposition.
डच (क्षेत्रीय भू-आकृतिक प्रयोग) से; घुमावदार नदियों में अंदरूनी मोड़ पर बनने वाले निक्षेपण-बार के लिए प्रयुक्त, अर्थ की दृष्टि से डच में मोड़/अंदरूनी तट के निक्षेपण से जुड़े शब्द-परिवार से संबंधित।
Definition
In river geomorphology, a lewak is a depositional feature that develops on the inside of a meander where water flow slows and drops sand and silt, gradually building a point bar and shifting the channel.
नदी-आकृतिक (जियोमॉर्फोलॉजी) में ‘लेवाक’ वह निक्षेपण-स्थल/आकृति है जो मेन्डर (घुमाव) के अंदरूनी हिस्से में बनती है, जहाँ प्रवाह धीमा होने पर रेत और गाद जमा होकर धीरे-धीरे ‘पॉइंट बार’ बनाती है और नदी-धारा का स्थान बदल सकती है।
