From New Latin leucaethiopes, from Greek leukos “white” + Aithiops “Ethiopian” (Aithiops, literally “burnt-faced”).

Definition
In historical/classical usage, leucaethiopes referred to a purported group of “white Ethiopians,” a label found in older ethnographic and geographical writings; it is not a modern scientific term and can be misleading or offensive in contemporary contexts.
