Definition
Leather is a durable material produced from animal hide or skin (commonly cow, goat, or sheep) that is treated—especially by tanning—to prevent decay; it is widely used to make shoes, bags, belts, jackets, upholstery, and protective gear.
लेदर (चमड़ा) जानवरों की खाल/त्वचा (अक्सर गाय, बकरी या भेड़) से बना एक मजबूत और लचीला पदार्थ है, जिसे सड़ने से बचाने के लिए विशेष रूप से ‘टैनिंग’ जैसी प्रक्रिया से उपचारित किया जाता है; इसका उपयोग जूते, बैग, बेल्ट, जैकेट, फर्नीचर की गद्दी और सुरक्षात्मक सामान बनाने में व्यापक रूप से होता है।
