From Greek iso- (“equal”) + baros (“weight”), used in meteorology and later in nuclear science.
ग्रीक iso- (“समान”) + baros (“भार/वज़न”) से बना; पहले मौसम विज्ञान में और बाद में नाभिकीय विज्ञान में प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
An isobar is (1) a meteorological line on a weather map joining places with the same atmospheric pressure, (2) in nuclear chemistry/physics, one of two (or more) nuclides of different elements that share the same mass number, and (3) more generally, any set of points/conditions at constant pressure.
आइसोबार (1) मौसम मानचित्र पर समान वायुमंडलीय दाब वाले स्थानों को जोड़ने वाली रेखा है, (2) नाभिकीय रसायन/भौतिकी में विभिन्न तत्वों के ऐसे न्यूक्लाइड जिनकी द्रव्यमान संख्या (mass number) समान हो, और (3) व्यापक अर्थ में, स्थिर दाब पर बिंदुओं/परिस्थितियों का कोई भी समुच्चय।
