Definition

Iritis is inflammation of the iris (the colored ring of the eye) and is a type of anterior uveitis; it can cause eye pain, redness, photophobia, and decreased vision and needs prompt medical evaluation.

इराइटिस आँख की रंगीन झिल्ली (आइरिस) की सूजन है और यह एंटीरियर यूवाइटिस का एक प्रकार है; इससे आँख में दर्द, लालिमा, रोशनी से चुभन (फोटोफोबिया) और दृष्टि धुंधली होना हो सकता है तथा इसके लिए तुरंत चिकित्सकीय जाँच आवश्यक होती है।
