Definition
An interrogatory is a formal written question—commonly used in legal proceedings during discovery—that one party serves on another, who must answer it under rules and deadlines; more generally it can mean any question or act of interrogation, and as an adjective it describes something that asks questions (e.g., an interrogatory glance).
