Origin & History
From Middle English inlet, from in + let (“to allow, to let in”), meaning “a place where water lets in,” later specialized to a narrow arm of the sea.
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी inlet से, जो in + let (“अनुमति देना/अंदर आने देना”) से बना; अर्थ था “वह स्थान जहाँ पानी अंदर आता है,” और बाद में यह समुद्र के संकरे भीतर घुसने वाले भाग के लिए विशेष रूप से प्रयोग होने लगा।

Inlets are narrow stretches of water (sea, lake, or river) that go into the land, often forming a small bay or channel; the word can also mean an opening through which something (like air or fluid) enters.
