From Latin ingestus (past participle of ingerere “to carry/put into”), from in- “into” + gerere “to carry”; modern English ingest (19th c., scientific) + -ed.
लैटिन ingestus (ingerere “अंदर ले जाना/डालना” का भूतकालिक कृदंत) से; in- “अंदर” + gerere “ले जाना/वहन करना”। आधुनिक अंग्रेज़ी में ingest (मुख्यतः वैज्ञानिक प्रयोग, 19वीं शताब्दी) से बना और -ed जुड़कर “ingested” हुआ।

“Ingested” means something was taken in—usually swallowed and absorbed by the body; in technical contexts it can also mean data or material was brought into a system for processing.
