From Late Latin importunatus (past participle of importunare ‘to trouble, harass’), from Latin importunus ‘inconvenient, troublesome’ (literally ‘not fit/unsuitable’).
यह शब्द लेटिन importunatus (importunare ‘परेशान करना/तंग करना’ का भूतकालिक कृदंत) से आया है; मूल Latin importunus का अर्थ ‘असुविधाजनक/कष्टदायक’ (शाब्दिक: ‘उपयुक्त नहीं/अनुकूल नहीं’) था।
Definition
Importunate describes demands or requests that are repeated again and again, pressing for an answer, often to the point of annoyance; it can also describe a person who keeps insisting or begging without stopping.
Importunate ऐसे आग्रह/माँग/विनती को कहते हैं जो बार-बार और लगातार की जाए, जवाब पाने के लिए दबाव डाले, और अक्सर सुनने वाले को परेशान कर दे; यह उस व्यक्ति के लिए भी आता है जो रुक-रुककर नहीं बल्कि लगातार ज़िद करके माँगता/गिड़गिड़ाता रहे।
