Definition
In grammar, “imperfective” describes an aspect that presents an action/event as ongoing, habitual, repeated, or incomplete, without focusing on its endpoint (e.g., “was reading,” “used to go”).
व्याकरण में “imperfective” (अपूर्ण/असमाप्त पहलू) उस aspect को बताता है जो किसी क्रिया/घटना को जारी, आदतन, बार-बार होने वाली या अपूर्ण रूप में दिखाता है, और उसके अंत-बिंदु पर ज़ोर नहीं देता (जैसे “पढ़ रहा था,” “जाया करता था”).
