From French imbecillité and Latin imbecillitas, from imbecillus meaning 'weak, feeble' (later also 'weak-minded').
यह फ़्रेंच imbecillité और लैटिन imbecillitas से आया है; लैटिन imbecillus का अर्थ ‘कमज़ोर/दुर्बल’ था (बाद में ‘दुर्बल-चित्त’ के अर्थ में भी)।
Definition
Imbecility means very great stupidity or lack of good judgment; historically it also referred to a category of intellectual disability (now considered outdated and offensive in clinical contexts).
इम्बेसिलिटी का अर्थ अत्यधिक मूर्खता या विवेक की कमी है; ऐतिहासिक रूप से यह बौद्धिक अक्षमता की एक श्रेणी के लिए भी प्रयोग होता था (जो आज चिकित्सीय संदर्भ में पुराना और अपमानजनक माना जाता है)।
