Definition
Hilling is the agricultural practice of pulling soil up around the base of plants to form a small mound or ridge, helping support stems, protect roots/tubers, and improve drainage (e.g., potatoes, maize).
हिलिंग खेती की वह विधि है जिसमें पौधों के तने के आधार के चारों ओर मिट्टी चढ़ाकर छोटा टीला/मेड़ बनाई जाती है, जिससे तनों को सहारा मिलता है, जड़ों/कंदों की रक्षा होती है और जल-निकास बेहतर होता है (जैसे आलू, मक्का)।
