Definition
Half-sword (or half-swording) is a historical European martial-arts technique where the fighter places one hand partway up the blade (usually on the flat, often with a gauntlet) while the other hand holds the hilt, giving finer point control for thrusts, grappling, and fighting in tight quarters or versus armored opponents.
