Definition
A grasshopper is a medium-to-large insect with strong hind legs for jumping, typically green or brown, that feeds mainly on grasses and other plants; in large numbers it can harm crops, and some species can form swarms similar to locusts.
ग्रासहॉपर (टिड्डे जैसा कीट) मध्यम से बड़े आकार का कीट होता है जिसकी पिछली टाँगें बहुत शक्तिशाली होती हैं और यह कूदने के लिए अनुकूल होती हैं; यह आमतौर पर हरा या भूरा होता है और मुख्यतः घास व अन्य पौधों को खाता है। संख्या अधिक होने पर यह फसलों को नुकसान पहुँचा सकता है, और कुछ प्रजातियाँ झुंड बनाकर लोकस्ट (टिड्डी-दल) जैसी भी हो सकती हैं।
