Definition
Goitres are swellings in the front of the neck caused by an enlarged thyroid gland; they may be linked to iodine deficiency, autoimmune disease, thyroid nodules, or hormonal changes.
गॉइटर (गलगंड) गर्दन के सामने दिखाई देने वाली सूजन/उभार होते हैं जो थायरॉयड ग्रंथि के बढ़ जाने से बनते हैं; इनका संबंध आयोडीन की कमी, ऑटोइम्यून रोग, थायरॉयड की गांठों (नोड्यूल्स) या हार्मोनल बदलावों से हो सकता है।
