Definition
Glossotomy is a medical surgical procedure involving an incision (cut) into the tongue, often done to access or treat lesions, tumors, or to manage airway/obstructive issues; in rare, older usage it can refer to the study or description of languages.
ग्लॉसोटॉमी एक चिकित्सकीय शल्य-प्रक्रिया है जिसमें जीभ में चीरा (कट) लगाया जाता है; यह अक्सर घाव/गांठ, ट्यूमर के उपचार या वायुमार्ग/अवरोध संबंधी समस्याओं के प्रबंधन के लिए किया जाता है। दुर्लभ व पुराने प्रयोग में यह भाषाओं के अध्ययन या वर्णन के अर्थ में भी मिलता है।
