Geochronometry is the branch of geoscience concerned with determining the absolute ages of rocks, minerals, fossils, and Earth processes, often by measuring isotopic ratios (radiometric dating) and other time-indicating signals to build timelines of Earth history.
जियोक्रोनोमेट्री भू-विज्ञान की वह शाखा है जो चट्टानों, खनिजों, जीवाश्मों और पृथ्वी की प्रक्रियाओं की निरपेक्ष आयु निर्धारित करती है; इसके लिए प्रायः समस्थानिक अनुपातों का मापन (रेडियोमेट्रिक डेटिंग) और अन्य समय-सूचक संकेतों का उपयोग करके पृथ्वी के इतिहास की समय-रेखा बनाई जाती है।
