Definition
“Fray” most commonly means the fibers at the edge of cloth/rope start to come apart (or you cause them to). It is also used figuratively for mental strain: “frayed nerves” = तनाव से थकी/चिड़चिड़ी नसें. Less common senses include “to alarm,” “to pay/defray costs,” and “to rub.”
