यह शब्द fire (आग) + works (काम/निर्मित वस्तुएँ) के संयोजन से बना; पहले इसका प्रयोग विस्फोटक उपकरणों/आतिशबाज़ी के प्रदर्शन के लिए हुआ, और बाद में रूपक रूप से ‘जोरदार हंगामा/तकरार’ के अर्थ में विस्तार हुआ।
Definition
Fireworks are explosive devices (pyrotechnics) that produce bright colours, sparks, loud bangs, or rockets for celebration; the word can also mean a fireworks show or, figuratively, a noisy/violent outburst or conflict.
