Fidgetiness

Origin & History

From English fidget (to move restlessly) + the noun-forming suffix -iness; fidget is attested from the 16th–17th centuries.

Definition

Fidgetiness is a condition in which someone keeps moving in small, restless ways (shifting position, tapping, fiddling), often because of nervousness, impatience, boredom, excitement, or discomfort.
