Origin & History

From Latin expatiari (“to wander, roam; to digress”), from ex- (“out”) + spatium (“space”). In modern English it came to mean ‘to expand in speech or writing’.

लैटिन expatiari (“भटकना/इधर-उधर घूमना; विषयांतर करना”) से, जहाँ ex- (“बाहर”) + spatium (“स्थान/विस्तार”) है। आधुनिक अंग्रेज़ी में इसका अर्थ ‘बोलने या लिखने में किसी बात को विस्तार देना’ हो गया।
