From Latin excursiō (“a running out, a sally”), from excurrere (“to run out”), via French/medieval Latin forms; later used in English for a short trip and figuratively for a digression.
यह शब्द लैटिन excursiō (“बाहर निकलकर दौड़ना/अचानक निकल पड़ना”) से आया है, जो excurrere (“बाहर दौड़ना/निकल जाना”) से बना; फ्रेंच/मध्ययुगीन लैटिन रूपों के माध्यम से अंग्रेज़ी में पहुँचा। बाद में अंग्रेज़ी में इसका अर्थ छोटी यात्रा और रूपक रूप में विषय-भटकाव (digression) के लिए भी होने लगा।
Definition
“Excursions” is the plural form of “excursion.” It most commonly means short trips taken for pleasure, often away from one’s usual route or place. It can also mean a digression from the main subject in speech or writing, and in phonetics it can refer to a deviation in pitch.
