From Euhemerus (4th–3rd century BCE Greek writer), who argued that gods were deified humans, + English -ize forming verbs.
यूनानी लेखक युहीमेरुस (Euhemerus, ईसा-पूर्व 4–3 शताब्दी) के नाम से; उनका मत था कि देवता वास्तव में देवत्व प्राप्त मानव थे; इसी नाम पर अंग्रेज़ी प्रत्यय -ize जोड़कर क्रिया बनी।

To explain a myth, deity, or supernatural story as a distorted memory of real human beings and historical events (often turning gods into deified heroes or rulers).
