Esterification is the chemical process of producing an ester, typically by reacting an alcohol with a carboxylic acid under acidic conditions; it is often reversible and used widely in organic synthesis, flavors, fragrances, and biodiesel production.
एस्टरीकरण वह रासायनिक प्रक्रिया है जिसमें एस्टर बनाया जाता है, सामान्यतः किसी ऐल्कोहॉल को कार्बोक्सिलिक अम्ल के साथ अम्लीय परिस्थितियों में अभिक्रिया कराकर; यह प्रायः प्रत्यावर्ती (reversible) होती है और कार्बनिक संश्लेषण, फ्लेवर/सुगंध तथा बायोडीज़ल निर्माण में व्यापक रूप से उपयोग होती है।
