Definition
Eburnification is a pathological change in which the surface of bone—commonly in a joint—becomes smooth, polished, and extremely hard like ivory, typically from cartilage loss and chronic friction (e.g., osteoarthritis).
एबर्नीफिकेशन एक रोगात्मक परिवर्तन है जिसमें (अक्सर जोड़ में) हड्डी की सतह चिकनी, चमकदार और हाथीदाँत जैसी अत्यधिक कठोर हो जाती है; यह सामान्यतः उपास्थि (कार्टिलेज) के घिस जाने और लंबे समय तक घर्षण के कारण होता है (जैसे ऑस्टियोआर्थराइटिस में)।
