From down + stroke; stroke comes from Old English strāc/stracian and related Germanic roots meaning “a blow/line made by striking or drawing.” The plural downstrokes is a modern compound used especially in handwriting, calligraphy, and music technique.
down + stroke से बना; stroke का मूल पुरानी अंग्रेज़ी strāc/stracian तथा संबंधित जर्मैनिक मूलों में है, जिनका अर्थ “प्रहार/खींचकर बनाई गई रेखा” से जुड़ा है। downstrokes इसका आधुनिक संयुक्त (compound) बहुवचन रूप है, जो विशेषकर हस्तलेखन, कैलिग्राफी और संगीत तकनीक में प्रयुक्त होता है।
Definition
Downstrokes are strokes or movements made from a higher point to a lower point, such as the downward line in a handwritten letter, a downward pick movement on a string instrument, or a downward motion in conducting.
