From double + decker (“something having decks/levels”), popularized in British English with reference to two-storey buses (late 19th–early 20th century).

“Double-decker” describes something built with two stacked levels; most commonly it refers to a bus with seating on both a lower and an upper floor, but it can also refer to things like two-layer sandwiches or two-level beds.
“डबल-डेकर” उस चीज़ को कहते हैं जिसमें एक के ऊपर एक दो स्तर/तल (डेक) बने हों; सबसे आम तौर पर यह ऐसी बस के लिए बोला जाता है जिसमें नीचे और ऊपर—दोनों मंज़िलों पर बैठने की जगह होती है, लेकिन यह दो-परत सैंडविच या दो-स्तरीय बिस्तर जैसी चीज़ों के लिए भी इस्तेमाल हो सकता है।
