From Latin distillare (“to drip down”), from dis- (“down, apart”) + stillare (“to drip”); later used for the process of distillation and figuratively for summarizing.
यह लैटिन distillare (“टपकना/नीचे टपकना”) से आया है, जो dis- (“नीचे/अलग”) + stillare (“टपकना”) से बना; बाद में इसका प्रयोग आसवन की प्रक्रिया और रूपक रूप में ‘सार निकालना/संक्षेप करना’ के लिए होने लगा।

Distills means to purify or extract a substance (especially alcohol or essential oils) by heating and condensing, or to reduce information to its most important points.
Distills का अर्थ है गरम करके और भाप को ठंडा करके (आसवन द्वारा) किसी पदार्थ को शुद्ध/अलग निकालना (विशेषकर शराब या आवश्यक तेल), या किसी जानकारी/विचार को संक्षेप में उसके सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बिंदुओं तक सीमित करना।
