From French désinfecter, based on Latin dis- (reversal/removal) + inficere (to taint, to stain), ultimately from Latin in- + facere (to do, to make).
फ़्रेंच désinfecter से; लैटिन dis- (हटाना/उलटना) + inficere (दूषित करना/दाग़ लगाना) पर आधारित; मूलतः लैटिन in- + facere (करना/बनाना) से।
Definition
To make a surface, object, or place free from harmful microorganisms by using disinfectants (such as alcohol, bleach, or antiseptic solutions), often to reduce the spread of disease.
किसी सतह, वस्तु या स्थान को कीटाणुनाशक पदार्थों (जैसे अल्कोहल, ब्लीच, या एंटीसेप्टिक घोल) से साफ करके हानिकारक सूक्ष्मजीवों/कीटाणुओं को नष्ट करना, ताकि संक्रमण और रोग फैलने का जोखिम कम हो।
