From Greek dialusis (“a dissolving, separation”), from dialuein (“to dissolve, separate”), from dia- (“through”) + luein (“to loosen”).
यूनानी dialusis (अर्थ: घुलना/विघटन, पृथक्करण) से; dialuein (अर्थ: घोलना/अलग करना) से बना, जो dia- (अर्थ: के माध्यम से) + luein (अर्थ: ढीला करना/खोलना) से मिलकर बना है।
Definition
Dialysis is a technique in which small molecules pass through a semipermeable membrane while larger particles are held back; in medicine, it refers to hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis used to clean the blood when kidneys cannot do so.
डायलिसिस एक ऐसी तकनीक है जिसमें अर्धपारगम्य झिल्ली (semipermeable membrane) के माध्यम से छोटे अणु/घुलनशील पदार्थ छनकर निकल जाते हैं और बड़े कण रुक जाते हैं; चिकित्सा में यह हेमोडायलिसिस या पेरिटोनियल डायलिसिस के रूप में गुर्दे (किडनी) विफल होने पर रक्त से अपशिष्ट और अतिरिक्त द्रव निकालने की उपचार-प्रक्रिया है।
