Definition
Dentin is the calcified tissue that makes up most of a tooth; it lies under the enamel in the crown and under the cementum in the root, and it is sensitive because it contains microscopic tubules connected to the pulp.
डेंटिन दाँत का कैल्सीफाइड ऊतक है जो दाँत का अधिकांश भाग बनाता है; यह क्राउन में एनामेल के नीचे और रूट में सीमेंटम के नीचे होता है, तथा इसमें सूक्ष्म नलिकाएँ (ट्यूब्यूल्स) होने के कारण यह संवेदनशील होता है जो पल्प से जुड़ी रहती हैं।
