From Latin denticulus (“little tooth”), diminutive of dens (“tooth”), via Italian dentello and French dentelle/denticule in architectural use.
लैटिन denticulus (अर्थ: “छोटा दाँत”), जो dens (“दाँत”) का लघुरूप है; स्थापत्य प्रयोग में इतालवी dentello और फ्रेंच dentelle/denticule के माध्यम से अंग्रेज़ी में आया।
Definition
Dentils are a series of small, evenly spaced, tooth-shaped rectangular projections used as decorative molding, typically beneath the cornice or along the entablature in classical buildings.
