Decommissioning is the planned process of formally retiring an asset from active service, including shutdown, removal of sensitive parts, dismantling, disposal, and site cleanup (often under safety and environmental rules).
डी-कमीशनिंग किसी मशीन, संयंत्र, प्रणाली, जहाज़ या हथियार को औपचारिक रूप से सेवा से हटाने की नियोजित प्रक्रिया है, जिसमें बंद करना, संवेदनशील भागों को हटाना, ध्वस्तीकरण/खोलना, निपटान और स्थल की सफ़ाई (अक्सर सुरक्षा व पर्यावरणीय नियमों के अनुसार) शामिल होती है।
