From de- + carburise, based on French carbone (“carbon”); the verb developed in technical metallurgy to mean removing carbon from iron/steel.
de- + carburise से बना; फ्रेंच carbone (“कार्बन”) के आधार पर, धातुकर्म की तकनीकी भाषा में लोहा/इस्पात से कार्बन हटाने के अर्थ में विकसित।
Definition
To reduce the carbon content of a metal—especially steel or iron—by oxidizing or otherwise removing carbon during refining or heat treatment.
किसी धातु—विशेषकर इस्पात या लोहा—में कार्बन की मात्रा को कम करने के लिए परिशोधन या ऊष्मा-उपचार के दौरान ऑक्सीकरण आदि द्वारा कार्बन हटाने की प्रक्रिया।
