From French décapitation, from Late Latin decapitare (“to behead”), from de- (“removal”) + caput (“head”).
फ़्रेंच décapitation से, जो लेटिन decapitare (अर्थ: ‘सिर काटना/शिरच्छेद करना’) से आया है; de- (अर्थ: हटाना) + caput (अर्थ: सिर) से बना।
Definition
Decapitation is the removal of the head from the body, usually by cutting, historically used as a form of execution or as an act of violence; the term is also used figuratively for removing a leader or top part of an organization.
शिरच्छेद (डिकैपिटेशन) शरीर से सिर को अलग करना है, सामान्यतः काटकर; इतिहास में इसे फाँसी/दंड के रूप में तथा हिंसा के रूप में किया जाता रहा है; रूपक रूप में इसका अर्थ किसी संगठन के नेता या शीर्ष हिस्से को हटाना भी होता है।
