From Latin debentur (“they are owed”), used in finance for written acknowledgements of debt; later adopted into English as debenture.

Definition
A debenture is a legal document or certificate showing that an issuer (a company or government) has borrowed money and promises to repay it, usually with interest; it may be unsecured (backed only by the issuer’s credit) or secured by a charge over assets.
डिबेंचर एक कानूनी दस्तावेज़/प्रमाणपत्र है जो बताता है कि जारीकर्ता (कंपनी या सरकार) ने धन उधार लिया है और सामान्यतः ब्याज सहित उसे लौटाने का वादा करता है; यह असुरक्षित (केवल जारीकर्ता की साख पर आधारित) या परिसंपत्तियों पर चार्ज के साथ सुरक्षित भी हो सकता है।
