Definition
Dams are barriers built across rivers or streams to stop or control water flow, creating a reservoir and helping with irrigation, power generation, and flood control; in animal breeding, dams are female parents (mothers).
डैम (dams) नदी/नाले पर बनाया गया बाँध/अवरोध होता है जो पानी के बहाव को रोकता या नियंत्रित करता है, जिससे जलाशय बनता है और सिंचाई, बिजली उत्पादन व बाढ़ नियंत्रण में मदद मिलती है; पशुपालन/प्रजनन में ‘dam’ का अर्थ मादा जनक (माँ) भी होता है।
