यूनानी dáktylos (अर्थ: उंगली/पैर की उंगली) + -itis (अर्थ: सूजन) से बना; चिकित्सीय लैटिन के माध्यम से और बाद में अंग्रेज़ी चिकित्सा शब्दावली में प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
Dactylitis is inflammation of a whole finger or toe, typically producing diffuse swelling (often called “sausage digit”), pain, and stiffness; it is commonly associated with psoriatic arthritis, other spondyloarthritides, gout, or infections.
डैक्टिलाइटिस में उंगली या पैर की उंगली (पूरे “डिजिट”) में सूजन हो जाती है, जिससे फैलावदार सूजन (जिसे अक्सर “सॉसेज डिजिट” कहा जाता है), दर्द और अकड़न होती है; यह प्रायः सोरियाटिक आर्थराइटिस, अन्य स्पॉन्डायलोआर्थराइटिस, गाउट या संक्रमणों से जुड़ा हो सकता है।
