Definition
Cupula refers to a dome- or cap-shaped structure in anatomy. In the inner ear, it is the gelatinous dome in the semicircular canals that bends with fluid movement and helps detect head rotation and balance; in cardiology/anatomy it can also mean a small valve-like fold or dome-shaped structure (e.g., parts of cardiac valves).
कपुला शरीर रचना में गुंबद/टोपी जैसे आकार वाली संरचना को कहते हैं। आंतरिक कान में यह अर्धवृत्ताकार नलिकाओं में संवेदी बाल कोशिकाओं के ऊपर स्थित जेली जैसा गुंबद होता है, जो द्रव के हिलने पर झुककर सिर के घूमने और संतुलन का संकेत देता है; हृदय-विज्ञान/अन्य शारीरिक संदर्भों में यह किसी छोटे वाल्व-जैसे पटल या गुंबदाकार भाग (जैसे कुछ हृदय-वाल्व संरचनाएँ) के लिए भी प्रयुक्त हो सकता है।
