लैटिन constant-, constans (“दृढ़/स्थिर”) से, जो constare (“दृढ़ रहना/स्थिर होना”) से निकला; पुरानी फ़्रेंच constant के माध्यम से अंग्रेज़ी में आया।
Definition
Constants are things or quantities that do not change; in math and science they are fixed values or experimentally fixed properties, and in programming they are named values that are intended to remain unchanged.
कॉन्स्टैंट/स्थिरांक वे वस्तुएँ या मात्राएँ हैं जो नहीं बदलतीं; गणित व विज्ञान में ये स्थिर मान या प्रयोग की ऐसी विशेषताएँ होती हैं जो दिए गए हालात में नहीं बदलतीं, और प्रोग्रामिंग में ये ऐसे नामित मान होते हैं जिन्हें अपरिवर्तनीय रखने का उद्देश्य होता है।
