Conceived

/kənˈsiːvd/

Origin & History

From Latin concipere (“to take in; become pregnant; form an idea”), via Old French concevoir; past participle formed in English as conceived.

Definition

“Conceived” is used when someone formed an idea, plan, or concept in their mind, or when a child was formed in the womb (i.e., pregnancy began). It can also mean “imagined” or “understood” something in a particular way.
