Origin & History
From Latin commiserārī (“to pity, to feel compassion”), from com- (“with”) + miserārī (“to pity”), via French/Medieval Latin forms; plural commiserations developed as ‘expressions of sympathy’.
लैटिन commiserārī (‘दया करना/करुणा महसूस करना’) से, जिसमें com- (‘साथ’) + miserārī (‘दया करना’) शामिल है; फ्रेंच/मध्यकालीन लैटिन रूपों के माध्यम से अंग्रेज़ी में आया। बहुवचन commiserations का प्रयोग ‘सहानुभूति/संवेदना के शब्द’ के अर्थ में विकसित हुआ।
Definition
Commiserations are words or acts showing that you share another person’s sadness or feel pity for their difficulties, often offered after bad news.
कमिसरेशन (commiserations) वे शब्द या व्यवहार हैं जिनसे यह दिखाया जाता है कि आप किसी और के दुःख/कठिनाई में सहभागी हैं; बुरी खबर के बाद सहानुभूति/दुख-प्रकट करना।
