Definition
Commensurability means that two things can be measured or evaluated using the same standard, scale, or unit, so comparisons between them make sense (e.g., two lengths in meters, or two studies using the same outcome metric). In philosophy of science, it can also refer to whether two theories or paradigms are comparable because they share key concepts and methods.
