Definition
Clinch-built describes a method of building boats in which the hull planks overlap like shingles and are fastened by clinching (bending over) nails or rivets for strength; it is closely related to, and often used interchangeably with, clinker-built construction.
Clinch-built नाव-निर्माण की एक विधि को बताता है जिसमें पतवार के तख्ते छप्पर की खपड़ों की तरह एक-दूसरे पर चढ़कर लगाए जाते हैं और मजबूती के लिए कीलों/रिवेट्स के सिरे मोड़कर (clinch करके) जकड़े जाते हैं; यह clinker-built (क्लिंकर-बिल्ट) निर्माण से बहुत मिलता-जुलता है और कई बार उसी अर्थ में प्रयोग होता है।
